A woman has revealed how she and her two sisters are triplets – despite being born four years apart.
Shelby, from the US, is the youngest of the triplets by four years, and revealed why the sisters had different star signs, regardless of being triplets.
In a video posted to her TikTok account, Maximum strength Pepto, Shelby revealed how her parents had undergone in vitro, most commonly known as IVF.
The parents tried it while IVF was still relatively new, and in the nineties, the embryos were implanted into her mum, and she gave birth to Shelby’s two sisters, Courtney and Becca, who are now 32-years-old.
Shelby, who is 28, said they only used half of the embryos for her sisters, so four years later her parents decided to give it another go, but doctors warned it wouldn’t work.
“The doctor told my mum that it would never work because they were frozen for way too long.
“But that ended up being me, I’m a miracle.”
This means Shelby and her sisters, are fraternal triplets, separated by four years, as they were all conceived at the same time.
Shelby also revealed the trio have different star signs, Shelby being a Gemini and her sisters being Leos.
What makes it stranger, is that Shelby’s rising and moon sign are both in Leo placement, which she admits she always thought was ‘kind of weird’.
While the trio are close, Shelby says she doesn’t think they look alike at all despite being conceived from the same embryo.
The videos have since gone viral, with more than 3.5 million views, and users were stunned by the story.
One user wrote: “They put you on snooze for four years.”
“I’m actually freaking out bc it never fully sank in for me how real human beings just like you were in a FREEZER for YEARS.” Another exclaimed.
A third joked: “Never thought about that and now I’m obsessed with you being the third triplet that just hung out for a beat in the freezer.”
Others claimed Shelby looked like a mix of her two older sisters, despite Courtney and Becca looking nothing alike: “The twins don’t look like each other but somehow you look like both of the twins. Lol. Science, man!”
“You and Courtney have the same upper half of the face and you and Becca have the same lower half” added another user.
A third wrote: “You literally like a mix of them haha.”
