Developers Mihoyo might be dealing with a player backlash right now regarding the game’s Anniversary event, but that won’t slow down the anticipation surrounding the upcoming Genshin Impact 2.2 livestream.
This will be the time when the Genshin team reveal all their latest projects and content plans for the popular action RPG, and there’s plenty of hype when it comes to what new characters will be added to the game next.
And what makes Genshin different from other games is the number of players who have access to it.
Not only is Genshin free-to-play – meaning you can download it and install it without paying anything – but it is also available from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
This makes it one of the most accessible RPGs to play right now, although you will need to have plenty of room spare on your mobile phone.
With that in mind, it’s easy to see why so many people are waiting to find out what the new Banner will be, and what new features will be made available.
For now, we only know that the Genshin Impact 2.2 livestream will be kicking off on Sunday, October 3, 2021.
The good news is that the broadcast will begin at around 1pm BST, making it very easy to tune in and watch in the UK.
For gamers in North America, the same livestream event will be available to watch at around 5am PDT, which isn’t as accommodating.
This will be the first livestream for Genshin Impact in October and is expected to contain plenty of new information regarding the upcoming Banner for the game.
It will also confirm the launch date of Genshin Impact 2.2, which is expected to fall between October 10 and October 17.
Leaks have been harder to come by following a clampdown by Mihoyo, although it appears we know about one new character coming to the game.
Thoma, the housekeeper from Mondstadt, is expected to be a pyro polearm character that will feature during the 2.2 era.
Thoma can reportedly create barriers to protect his teammates and is expected to be further explained during the upcoming 2.2 livestream.
