Apprentices with the company will be able to study and gain qualifications in areas including electronic design, cyber security, aerospace engineering and accountancy.
BAE Systems is involved in many of the UK’s most important defence programmes with new recruits having the opportunity to work on Dreadnought submarines, Type 26 frigates and Tempest- a future combat air system developed for the Royal Air Force.
With cyber attacks also a growing area in defence working on protection of critical national infrastructure will also be a key area.
In addition the company has recently launched a Masters-level sustainability apprenticeship to help drive the company’s net zero ambitions.
